Our direct trade relationship with El Llano started through the providers of the La Minita coffee, who own and operate a mill that processes the beans from several surrounding farms. This Costa Rican coffee comes from a farm that has been run by Jose Antonio’s family since 1935! This coffee is organically grown, which is very rare for this area.
Set at a different elevation and aligned on a different face of the ridge along the Tarrazu River, this short geographic difference provides a surprisingly varied microclimate from its neighboring farms. El Llano has a stronger, fruitier profile compared to other coffees grown in the region. It has more of a berry flavor, rather than citrus. The flavor is very unique to Costa Rica!
