How to Make a V60

How to Make a V60

Posted by Kelsey Kohls on Apr 10th 2026

A simple recipe to make a single, fresh cup of coffee.

Supplies (12oz)

  • Scale
  • 24g Coffee
  • 350g Hot Water

Instructions

  1. Grab a mug and V60, place the V60 right on top of that mug.
  2. Open the filter and place it into the V60 cone.
  3. Completely rinse the filter with hot water, and discard the water left in the mug.
  4. Measure out 24g of coffee and grind (if whole bean).
  5. Pour the 24g of coffee grounds into the filter, place the V60 on the scale, and “tare” the scale so that it reads zero.
  6. Start timer and pour <60g of water in a circular motion to completely saturate the grounds while avoiding the edges. Wait 30-45 seconds.
  7. Pour slowly around the center of the grounds until you reach 350g of water.
  8. Once the V60 is done dripping, remove and discard filter with grounds. The entire brew should take between 2-3 min.

If you need a little extra coffee:

16oz
32g Coffee
466g Hot Water

24oz
40g Coffee
583g Hot Water

Brewing a pour over using a V60.
